4 Tourist Things To Do In LA

Your head may be spinning while building your tourist itinerary for Los Angeles. Narrow down your list by doing these 4 tourist things in LA.

Hit the Beach

If you want to do something on the cheap visit the local beaches in LA. All are open to the public. You’ll do some really interesting people watching while enjoying the water and sand of Southern California. Soak up the wide range of beaches. Do you like volleyball? Get your serve on at the beach. Or maybe you’re a surfer? Hang 10 as you hit the half pipe. You can pass out on the sand after a morning of sightseeing or perhaps you just want to people watch at whacky Venice Beach. If you do visit Venice Beach bring your camera and weight training gloves. You’ll want to record some of the more fascinating, colorful people in the region through a few snapshots. Get your pump going at world famous Gold’s Gym on the beach in Venice.

Go to Catalina

Catalina Island is a paradise sitting off the coast of LA which feels quite like the Mediterranean. From the wonderful temperature to the laid back vibe of the locals Catalina feels like a trip down memory lane; or perhaps, to another region in some far off tropical locale. One note; if you’re into the hustle and bustle of LA proper this spot probably isn’t for you. People who dig a laid back, chill and relaxed vibe would appreciate Catalina Island. There’s not a ton of stuff for you to do but for a few day’s worth of R and R there isn’t a better spot to visit in the LA area. Take a ferry out to the island for a day or 2.

Do Disneyland

Who wouldn’t like to see Disneyland at least once in their lives? This is the original, flagship theme park for the Disney brand. See Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy and Donald Duck up close and personal. Act like a kid all day long without feeling like a fool and soak up the positive, happy vibe which pervades through the park.  The only real downsides of the friendly, joy-inducing environments are both the cost of tickets as well as wait times on lines to some of the more popular rides. If you don’t mind shelling out some cash and waiting for a bit to hop on rides you’ll definitely want to visit Disneyland during your trip to Los Angeles.

Cruise the Malibu Coast

For unparalleled views of the Pacific Ocean take a cruise down the Malibu Coast. This is about as pretty as it gets when you’re talking about taking a day trip through the LA region. Take in stunning scenery while ogling some impressive real estate in the region. The combination of sea views and towering cliffs makes for an impressive one-two punch guaranteed to thrill you.
