Summers are better avoided and the town welcome winters with open arms. The best of Lonavala can be experienced during monsoon. The lush greens look brighter and the lakes and streams feel blessed. With the adjoining Khandala, Lonavala has no specific differences. Bushi Dam which is just 6 km away is full of bloom during rains. Though reaching the Dam is a task during monsoon but the place is worth visiting. The Buddhist nuns has also touched the place and the caves here are the evidence of that. Bhaja Caves with some 22 other caves is a great example of Indian art and portraying Indian architecture. Carved out of mountains, Karla Caves is another attraction of the place. Ekvira Devi Temple, Lohagad Fort, Rajmachi Fort, Tikona Fort are all in the vicinity. So, plan a trip to this beautiful town and explore the historical sites.
